Dr Ian Weisberg is a pioneering cardiac electrophysiologist whose dedication to heart rhythm medicine is transforming care across the Florida Panhandle. Renowned for his deep expertise and compassionate approach, Dr Ian Weisberg has become a trusted leader in cardiology, offering innovative solutions while putting patients at the heart of every decision.
Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Dr Ian Weisberg was a standout both academically and athletically. He earned “All Southwest” honors in soccer and contributed to The Greenhill School’s national championship-winning tennis team at Duke University. This early drive for excellence would carry over into every phase of his medical career.
He began his academic journey at Emory University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics while completing his premedical coursework. A Phi Beta Kappa inductee, Dr Ian Weisberg enriched his education with studies abroad at the London School of Economics and the Institute of Italian Studies in Florence, Italy. He later returned to Emory for his Doctor of Medicine, combining academic distinction with a growing passion for healing.
His postgraduate training began at UT Southwestern’s Parkland Memorial Hospital, where he completed a residency in Internal Medicine. He then pursued a Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Florida in Jacksonville, serving as Chief Fellow. To further specialize in the rapidly evolving field of cardiac electrophysiology, Dr Ian Weisberg completed dual fellowships in Clinical and Advanced EP at the University of Chicago. There, he mastered complex procedures such as atrial fibrillation ablation, Watchman device implantation, and advanced pacemaker and defibrillator therapies.
Dr Ian Weisberg made a significant impact in Pensacola, where he played a key role in developing the EP lab at Gulf Breeze Hospital. His dedication to providing care for underserved communities earned him the We Care Doctor of the Year award in both 2012 and 2014. He was also one of the first physicians in the United States to implant the Biotronik DX ICD, further proving his forward-thinking approach to cardiac technology.
His expertise then helped launch the EP program at North Okaloosa Medical Center, and he brought advanced procedures like AFib ablations and Watchman implants to HCA Fort Walton-Destin.
In January 2025, Dr Ian Weisberg took a transformative step by founding Emerald Coast Heart & AFib—the only specialty clinic in the region focused exclusively on heart rhythm disorders. This state-of-the-art practice now serves patients in Okaloosa and Santa Rosa counties, filling a crucial gap in specialized care with compassion, precision, and innovation.
Outside the clinic, Dr Ian Weisberg is a devoted father and enthusiastic sports fan. His dedication to personal balance reflects the same values he brings to his medical practice—excellence, empathy, and a commitment to making a lasting difference in people’s lives.
